Make a Payment

• Cañon City has partnered with Xpress Bill Pay to offer a new online payment system. The switch was made to provide you with many new and enhanced features like full bill presentation, paperless billing, billing history, autopay, stored payment info, email notifications, and more.
  
  
  • Your account number has changed. It is now 9 digits. The new format is 123456-789.
  • Our remittance address has changed to P.O. Box 522, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062-0522
• If you had autopay set with the city’s previous provider using a debit or credit card, you will need to visit Xpress Bill Pay to set up a new Auto Pay. Please note that there is a charge for this service. If you were previously signed up for paperless billing, you will need to re-establish this by creating an account and opting in for paperless billing.
  
  
• To sign up for auto pay using your bank account information (EFT) please contact the City’s Utility Billing Department at (719) 269-9015. NOTICE: Utility Payment Convenience Fees

Effective April 21, 2025, utility payments made with a credit card will be subject to a credit card fee of 3% of the total bill plus $0.65. This fee is imposed by the credit card processing company and is not retained by the City of Cañon City. This fee is imposed in person, online, or utilizing our pay-by-phone system. 

Electronic checks will be subject to a $2 convenience fee. This fee is imposed by the processor and is not retained by the City of Cañon City. This convenience fee is imposed online or by utilizing our pay-by-phone system. 

Payments made using cash or paper checks are not subject to any fees. 

If you sign up for autopay online using your bank account or credit card, your payments will be subject to the convenience fee of 3%. To avoid paying this convenience fee, you may set up autopay through the City’s Utility Billing Department. This autopay will occur on the 20th of the month and may only be through your bank account. Please contact Utility Billing at 719.269.9015 or waterbilling@canoncity.org for instructions on setting up this autopay.

• Authorization Agreement for Preauthorized Electronic Payments – Checking Account (PDF) – To set up utility billing autopay from your checking account. Completed authorization forms must be received by the 15th day of the month to be effective that month. Authorizations received after the 15th will be effective the following month.
  
  
• Authorization to Release Combined Utility Billing Information (PDF) - Documentation that someone, other than the property owner, has the right to make changes on the utility account.
  
  
• Final Request Form (PDF) - Used by title companies to obtain final balances due prior to closing on the sale of a property.
